Co.As.It. Community Services Emergency Relief Support in Brisbane and Gold Coast - Winter Hampers 2026

Spreading warmth this Winter: Winter Hampers 2026

While winter in Queensland may be milder than most places, for those who are vulnerable or facing economic hardship – the colder months can feel long, lonely and hard to navigate.

Co.As.It. is proud to brighten the coldest and darkest of winter days for some of the most vulnerable members of our community who are doing it tough through our Emergency Relief services.

We gratefully acknowledge the government funding for our Emergency Relief service which enables us to provide compassionate care to those in need.

Starting small

We believe in supporting people with care, respect and compassion.

It is why Co.As.It.’s tradition of delivering hampers in winter and at Christmas began simply – as a small act of kindness that quickly revealed just how much it meant to those who received a basket.

What began as a modest gesture has, over the years, grown into one of the most helpful initiatives in our community outreach calendar.

Packed with warmth, care and a generous selection of comfort foods and products, each hamper is so much more than a gift basket. It is a timely reminder that someone, somewhere is thinking of you, and that you are valued and not alone.

Year after year, our team members pack and deliver hampers to those facing economic hardship and homeless across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and each time the recipient’s response reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

We’re delighted to share the feedback of past recipients whose sentiments stay with our Co.As.It. team long after the deliveries are done.

“Receiving a hamper like this makes us feel special and it also makes us feel acknowledged,” one recipient remarked.

“We’re delighted that we can indulge in some tasty food without feeling guilty, when the cost of living is so high,” a grateful recipient said.

For Co.As.It., these words speak volumes. For some of our recipients a visit from a team member with their arms outstretched with a hamper, coupled with a warm smile and cheerful ‘hello’ is often the only genuine emotional connection they experience during winter months.

Winter warmth

This winter, Co.As.It. is once again proud to package and deliver a bundle of winter hampers across our community.

Each hamper has been lovingly packed with a careful selection of nourishing foods and products to warm the body and spirit, including:

  • Essential ingredients for warm and hearty meals
  • Staple beverages including hot chocolate, coffee and tea
  • Delicious snacks and biscuits for a little indulgence
  • A soft, cosy blanket to snuggle up with all night long

When our dedicated team have the opportunity to hand-deliver a hamper, they also take the time to not just drop off the basket but to share a moment of connection, conversation and genuine care with every recipient they visit.

For those who live alone or have limited social connection, winter can amplify feelings of loneliness and disconnection. Our winter hamper deliveries are one small way to bridge that gap – to reach out and say: we see you, we care about you and you matter to our community.

As one team member commented, “We all need to do unto others as we would like others to do to us, and it is a privilege to be part of our recipient’s journey, in good times and tough times alike.”

Another team member remarked, “When my recipient’s face lit up like it was Christmas in the middle of a cold winter day, it was a heart-warming reminder of why caring for everyone helps to build an inclusive community that we all benefit from.”
