Social Support Activities

Social Support Activities help participants maintain an active social life through the participation in outings with friends or the attendance at an organised outing on a monthly basis.

Engagement in social activities are encouraged to prevent feeling isolated,  and to help you stay active, independent and provide social stimulation and connection within your own community.  Monthly group outings are organised for eligible persons living on the north side and south side of Brisbane providing a social day out with lunch and transport included.  A small fee is required to access these outings.

Lack of social support can hinder a person’s overall quality of life.  It is related to negative impacts on health and well-being, especially for older people from a CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) background.

Participation in social support activities can contribute to psychological and physical wellness by reducing stress, increasing physical health and preventing depression.

Our staff will welcome you into our social groups and make your experience enjoyable.
