Escaping the everyday: Buderim and Amici House

Our Social Outings groups bid farewell to daily routines when they set off for the beautiful Sunshine Coast township of Buderim in August.

First stop was a delicious morning tea at Amici House at Bracken Ridge, where the café quickly filled with the echoes of friendly chatter and joyful laughter.

After all, `Amici’ means ‘friends’ in Italian and for our Social Outings groups it was an opportunity to catch up with friends and meet new ones.

Feeling refreshed and with renewed energy from hot coffee and tea, delicious scones and cheesy muffins, it was easy to see why Amici House is so popular.

The camaraderie of our social group continued in full swing with everyone now in the mood to travel and indulge in a day filled with joy, companionship and sightseeing.

As wellbeing, enjoyment and companionship take centre stage, our Social Outings are a reminder that our later years mark an extraordinary point in our lives.

When the township of Buderim emerged in the distance, everyone began to immerse themselves in the laid-back yet fulfilling rhythm of the Sunshine Coast.

On arrival at Buderim, the breathtaking views, fresh country air and quaint cafes were yet another reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment before indulging in a beautiful lunch.

For our social groups, enjoying lunch together also has a unique magic of its own. It’s when everyone is nudged to adapt and think on their feet, from selecting a delicious meal to deepening connections with each other and finding their way around a new place.

Before leaving Buderim, our Social Groups pivoted their focus towards their own needs and whether to buy a last minute souvenir to cherish or something for family and friends.

It is through our Social Outings, that everyone discovers that friendships and travel are gifts waiting to be embraced as they connect, learn and experience new things together.
