Why Heart Health Matters

On average 22 women die everyday of heart disease in Australia. Traditional symptoms – chest pain or pressure, cold sweat, extreme weakness – are well known.

Other more subtle signs are easy to miss, from indigestion to shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, nausea and bodily (jaw, shoulder and back) pain.

Heart disease may be inherited and preventable. Through this information session we seek to empower women, especially those from multicultural communities, to understand how to improve their heart health through healthy eating and sleeping habits, regular physical activity and regular medical check-ups.

That some women, especially those from multicultural communities, may be at higher risk due to diet and family history, make this event is so important

Celebrating Culture and Community

This isn’t just about health – it’s about connection. Whether you’ve lived in Australia for decades or just arrived, we welcome you to bring your voice, your language and your story.
